Join the TPRF board

Board candidacy
#

Would you like to join the Foundation board? This is the path:

1. Nomination
#

A new member is nominated by one or more Board members, and must be seconded.

If you would like to propose yourself or someone else for nomination, contact a member of the board or email board@perlfoundation.org with the following information:

  • A biography, CV or other background information
  • Your reasons for wishing to become a member of the Board
  • The goals that you would like to see the Foundation pursue over the following 12-24 months

This information will be posted publicly.

2. Eligibility
#

The nominee must be an active volunteer in the Perl or Raku communities for 180 days or more or have previously played a significant role in the community or Foundation even if no longer active.

Nomminees who are active in other Open Source communities and have particular capabilities sought by the Board will also be considered.

3. Public hearing
#

A public post will be made to ask for comment from the community. The post will have the nominee’s bio and reasons for nomination, as detailed above.

4. Election
#

Election will be made by the Board Members after community feedback period of at least 2 weeks.

Evaluation criteria
#

Nominees will have at least one of:

  • experience on other FOSS boards
  • not for profit experience
  • management or business experience
  • have start-up experience

If the nominee purports to represent a community, that community should validate the application.
